One of my favorite hobbies is painting. I have no technical training, (I actually quit my college painting class about 3 weeks in.) it is just something I like doing for me. I work with acrylics, because they dry fast and I can do a lot of layers in a day. I’m a sucker for instant gratification, so oils just don’t work for me!
I recently had these 3 paintings hung in a local cafe, and although I hope they sell, part of me hates to let go of them! One of the biggest challenges I have is naming my art. Although I love abstract art, I don’t really think everything has to have a deep sounding name to make it unique. I tried to stay away from cliche’s like “Stormy night” and just went with simple adjectives that I would use to describe the paintings. For example the third one I named “Frantic”.
