Puppy Icecream

Published on: Jun 27 2012 by margo

I found this idea on Pinterest and thought I might give it a try on my puppy. Guy is a 9 month old boxer/mutt. He is very active and has a case of PADD (puppy ADD). So I wondered if it was worth the effort to freeze this huge block of ice that he would probably lose interest in after 2 minutes. I decided to try it out on him anyway, and one hour later, the block of ice was completely eaten!  Guy and his BFF Ike licked the icy treat until there was nothing left! To try this on your puppy you will need:

You will need a large container to freeze this in. I used an 2.5 quart tupperware

1 can low sodium chicken broth

Enough water to fill up rest of container (sorry I didn’t measure)

Your dog’s favorite treats, small toys, and even a little of his dog food

Freeze until solid.

I just left mine over night and gave it to him the next morning. Here are some cute pictures of Guy and his best friend enjoying a morning of treats and sunshine!

Guy shared with Ike for a while, but when it was melted enough to carry, he took it to a secret location behind the garage.
